New epigenetic clock measures aging using dormant DNA

Researchers have developed Retroelement-Age, a novel epigenetic clock that measures age by analyzing previously suppressed DNA fragments. The watch focuses on human endogenous retroviruses (HERVs) and long nuclear elements (LINEs), which can be activated by age-related epigenetic changes.
