Comparing centenarians and non-centenarians: biomarker profiles in blood and exceptional longevity

A recent study published in the journal GeroScience has identified a number of common biomarkers, including cholesterol and glucose levels, in people over 90 years of age. Twelve blood biomarkers associated with inflammation, metabolism, liver and kidney function, as well as potential malnutrition and anemia, were considered. All of these biomarkers have been linked to aging or mortality in previous studies.
